I still don't know any more than last night but I have read somewhere previously that there have been more than 4500 ventrical assist pumps implanted around the world, so it isn't that extraordinary.

Maybe it was deemed newsworthy because it was the first at St Vincents.

Shouldn't be an issue with VCR as my understanding is that their device has some unique engineering features that gives it an edge.

This can all change of course which is why investment in this sort of thing is so risky.

However there is nothing in VCR's development at this stage to suggest they won't succeed.

We'll just have to wait and see.
