Need to remember the US and Europe were coming of a very low base in regards to profits.
Market expectations have been kept low for past couple years so as profits have returned a little bit the consensus forecast is off a low base. therefore easy to say profits are rising and all is well.
The issues the US face will be as rates return to Normal. but whats Normal these days.
