TESTS TOP 1600 FOR OCTOBER
The number of billable procedures performed by IM Medical’s Intelliplan system topped 1600 for the
first time in October, Chief Executive Officer Tommas Bonvino announced today.
The 1612 tests for the month completed the fourth successive month of steadily increasing business in
the new financial year. The number of tests in October was more than four times the amount in June.
The increase in billings co-insides with the successful rollout of Intelliplan since the middle of the
year. IM Medical is on target to have 60 medical practices signed up for use of Intelliplan by the end
of the year.
Mr Bonvino said the recent success of Intelliplan was caused by the switch in strategy from using the
technology for executive health testing to the much bigger chronic disease care management plan
market. The Intelliplan technology applies a range of health tests and produces reports to help general
practitioners manage care plans for patients with chronic diseases. Last year, the Federal Government
introduced Medicare rebates for GP management plans.
Mr Bonvino said chronic disease would be a major focus for the health system and governments in
coming years. A recent report by Access Economics estimated that the financial cost of obesity alone
in Australia was $21 billion a year.
