Lawyers for the parents are urging the court to spare them jail, arguing they had changed their ways and now felt immense shame and guilt for causing their daughter’s disability. Prosecutor Justin Lewis told the court the couple ignored repeated warnings from medical professionals that a plant-based diet was not suitable for their daughter.

hmmmm - sounds bad - but, in numbers would pale into insignificance to the amount of damage done by parents who smoke, abuse alcohol and take drugs at home raising kids
