It's a property forum on an investment site! What do you expect? Property prices are falling in many, or most areas. If you own an investment property in an area where prices are falling, you will be much more concerned with where prices are going, rather than reno'ing or ramping up yields somehow - who cares about raising the yield from 6% to 8% if you are losing 20% in capital?

If everyone is worried about prices, that's an indication that prices are falling all over Australia. The local market in our area has turned significantly from its peak in April last year. Prices have only softened slightly - but sales are well down. Some houses have been empty for months (>6): last April they were selling in days.
