Yeah, you would think they would get out in front of it. I assume they are hoping it's not too bad, and they can come out in a few days with a non-price-sensitive announcement saying it's all sorted. However, if it does end up being pretty serious that is likely to work against them and people will be asking why they were hiding it. I think these days you're better off announcing sooner rather than later.

Toll suffered a few attacks a couple of years ago. Their response was to take all systems offline, then restore them one by one. I think they called it a 'Cyber Attack', though in fact it was Ransomware. 'Cyber Attack' is rather similar to 'Cyber Incident'. Ventia seems to be working from the same playbook as Toll. Of course I have no idea whether this is ransomware or not, but it seems that Ventia is being purposely ambiguous about things, so I can't say I'm overly confident...
