it sounds like ransomware - the infrastructure attacks generally are. They seem to be doing all the right things - working with the regulators etc. While I can understand that they don’t want to spook the markets it just seems wrong that they are releasing info without letting investors know via the asx. Now that the information is spreading they are probably harming themselves by not having a detailed announcement.
Anyway hopefully it has been contained without too much impact and they spend the money to beef up their protection against future attacks. Their systems can’t be too bad, unlike say Latitude who seem to have allowed them to walk off with all their databases before they noticed anything!
