On 29th May 2007 the first well at Ventura South Flank bottomed out with no result, and the decision to drill the first of two sidetracks was taken (as holders would know, contingency was made in the initial budget for two of these, given uncertaintly over the old well etc.).

LPL estimated that results would be available in 10 days time. On that basis we can expect news either today or tomorrow on the first of these sidetracks.

Given that Solimar has now accepted the takeover deal offered by LPL, one would expect that Ventura must come in if the offer was to be embraced by LPL shareholders. These guys have been in business long enough not to take silly risks, so I'm sure that the "low lying fruit" of Ventura will provide the right catalyst to ensure that the deal goes through.
