The headline above the article was quite misleading, since cannabinoids are a fairly small segment of Arena's research program. Pfizer is making no more than a Scratchy bet on "Medical Cannabis".
Even if one or more marketable products eventuate, the constituent organic compounds will probably be synthesised in Pfizer's laboratories, not extracted from a cannabis plant, even if it is grown in a RotoGro cylinder inside a sanitised Grow Room (if, by some miracle, RGI is still around when this is approved by the FDA) .
