Had it confirmed today that the production platform was sitting over the caisson at Vermilion 258 and things were ahead of schedule for a production start up possibly before the end of June. As was explained at the AGM, the advantage of putting a crane on the platform was that you could do all the required completions without the need for a work over rig or barge. And the cutting edge monobore technology that Petsec is using means there is no production casing so wells can be brought on stream more quickly and more cheaply. Hard to understand the weakness in the price of late but it is the silly season after all. Could time to be accumulating. Only 700,000 shares exchanged in the last fortnight on a steady to weakening share price has to be bullish.
