Your are right Smithy, this country gets more pathetic by the day...Australia can no longer be called "the lucky country", what's so lucky?.
Socialists were voted in to Government in 2007 and that was the end of life as we knew it. We are no longer in charge of our own lives, some socialist bureaucrat somewhere behind closed doors makes the rules, and those rules are steadily stealing our freedoms and our liberty. No longer can we decide for ourselves what is good for us and what is bad...we pay our way in to the world, and we pay our way out, but we are really not in total charge of our own destiny in between.
Those who were around in the 60's would recall the wearing of a helmet while riding a motor cycle was a personal decision, it was not compulsory. Seatbelts were unheard of, but now if you fail to put on your seatbelt in your car, you will be fined and points taken off your driver licence. Oh, but if you are a drug addict taking illegal drugs you can go and shoot up in a private room somewhere, needles provided!
