    Dr. Gary Sibbald

    Professor of Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Toronto

    Dr. Sibbald is a board-certified internal medicine and dermatology specialist in both Canada and the United States based at the University of Toronto and in private practice in Mississauga. He has had a special interest in wound care education, research and patient care for the past 15 years.

    Dr. Sibbald received his Bachelor of Science, MD and specialty degrees from the University of Toronto. He has been a staff member of the University health Network (Toronto General) since 1979 and active staff at Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Center (Women's College Campus) and Trillium Health Centre (Mississauga Site) since 1982.

    Dr, Sibbald is former Director of Continuing Education for the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. As part of this role, he established a multidisciplinary wound care course for the university. He is as well former director and current chair of the Education Committee of the Canadian Dermatology Association. Dr. Sibbald recently completed a Masters of Education program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education(OISE) and is a member of the Centre for Research in Education, University of Toronto.

    The Dermatology Day Care and Wound Healing clinic was established at Women's College Campus to provide an interdisciplinary focus for wound healing, education, patient care and research. The center provides a networking hub for community enterostomal therapists and an interdisciplinary diabetic foot care team. As the direct, Dr. Sibbald is involved with his team in wound care team research.

    He is the clinical section editor for Wounds, and international advisor for the Journal of Wound Care and co-editor of the 4th edition of Chronic Wound Care: A Clinical Sourcebook for Healthcare Professionals.

    Dr Douglas Queen...

    Douglas has been in the wound care arena for over 20 years. Indeed he completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering studying Wound Care Dressings in 1986. He also completed his MBA in 1996.

    He spent 13 years working for ConvaTec both in their Research & Development and also their Sales & Marketing Organisations. His career with ConvaTec covered both European and North American experience.

    Currently Douglas has own medical device consultancy business and also has established Medicahelplines.com Inc a company devoted to bringing specialised medical information sites to the Internet.

    Additional Info

    Douglas is a member of the IIWCC Faculty, University of Toronto and acts as the Webmaster and Business Manager for the Toronto Wound Healing Centres.
