re: very nasty stuff...chart help please In '87 I had been watching 10 to 12 cycles in action for several years.
My conclussion was that while each produced minor lows or a consolidation, trying to time a top before hand was a loss maker.
When in hindsight I saw that every cycle had bottomed on the crash day, and that the crash period was very brief, I came to the conclussion that a single cycle can hold a market up until the last moment.
If I had accepted the wisdom of a composite then I would have shorted too far before the top and although profitable by the low, would have sacrificed much of the last lunatic rally.
I am not saying that some weighting or rationalising can't be achieved, but I have not found it yet.
It may be that some of the other topics that Gann45 has addressed is the answer or part of the answer.
