    sometimes i see high asks come in and the amount of the ask changes... the ask will never get hit as its 7.50.. i think the ask amount (volume)has a code in it. they change the volume to communicate.. each broker probably has an ask price they communicate through. then they use the ask amount to communicate with.

    just speculation of course.
