As far as I know, in the years that I have been investing in the market, I find it very odd that a company such as NLG disclose that there have been approaches made to the company with regards to getting a substantial stake in the company. I am fine with that but disclosing to the public about details of the approaches such as "........approaches that have been received involved indicative valuations for NLG equity at levels BELOW the current share price" ...really baffles me. Why make such a disclosure? It's not even final yet. These sort of discussions should remain CONFIDENTIAL until such time details are "final". But making such a disclosure about indicative valuations being BELOW the current share price can only mean 1 thing.....the company does not want it's share price to go up at the expense of it's shareholders. These people are definitely not enhancing shareholders value.
The timing of NLG's announcement really amazes me. It came at the time when NLG's share price is about to go through the roof! Then bang....the announcement. I find it also odd that they made the announcement yesterday even without an ASX query. So why make such an announcement??????? I really don't know what these guys are thinking.
