    That's a shame. Only last week I saw that Telstra had bucked the trend for recorded customer complaints to the TIO.

    "TELSTRA was the only major telco to record a drop in customer complaints for mobile and internet services as Vodafone recorded a whopping 222 per cent rise.

    Vodafone played a major part in delivering the highest number of complaints on record, according to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman's 2011 annual report.

    In the last financial year, Telstra recorded 78,949 customer complaints compared with 81,589 the previous year, representing a 3.2 per cent drop, the report said.

    The worst performer was Vodafone Hutchison Australia across its range of brands. The company has struggled with poor call reception and myriad other well-publicised issues with its mobile network.

    Vodafone's new customer complaints increased by 222 per cent from 11,040 to 35,563; Three Mobile had a 40.5 per cent change from 13,558 to 19,046 and Crazy John's showed a 168.7 per cent spike from 1035 to 2781.

    The country's no 2 telco Optus saw new complaints rise 4.9 per cent from 26,988 to 28,323 in 2010-11
