Your post gets me to thinking.

UCG good for SYNGAS which can obviously be used for power.
So who is the customer here? Open cut coal producers (i know it is very different coal), coal burning energy companies, or governments? Assuredly LINC are not going to be running the show themselves.

GTL is good for Diesel/ Jetfuel and Naptha. Again, who are the customers for this technology. Current oil producers and refiners? Assuming LINC don't go into the liquids business themselves. After all they own a lot of coal.

Are LINC an energy company, or a technology company?
What do you think they will do in SA considering you have some knowledge of the industry there?
