Russia had asked for security guarantees from the US.
The US and its acolytes treated Russia's request with contempt.
Putin said he would demilitarise and denatzify the Ukraine and is in the process of doing this to get the security he asked for.
For about 8 years, NATO has trained the Ukrainian army to its standards and only Turkey in Europe has a larger army than the Ukraine. The Ukraine army is equal to the best army in NATO; many units have battle-hardened troops from its years of intermittent war in Donbas.
Russia has about 200,000 troops which it can use in the Ukraine but is only using about 50,000; the rest are a reserve in case of an attack by NATO. This attack is now unlikely as Ukraine's NATO trained army is being systematically destroyed by a much smaller russian force.
Currently the US and its acolytes are funding the feeding of the meat-grinder. The sooner they stop wasting lives and money the better.
Almost 80 years ago their forefathers freed the Ukraine from Hitler's control. Symbolically as the allies get control of cities they fly the same flag used 80 years ago to give respect to those who fought in this area in WW2 and ended natzi domination.
