Can't get much more pessimistic than that...sorry BH! could help myself, and I am sure you have noticed my restraint over the past week.
But seriously, I have lived in Brazil during the late '80 + 90's when there was 2,000+ % inflation p.a. It was inconvenient, but far from life threatening.
Currently, in Brazil, an overdraft cost you 128% p.a. (if you can get approved), balances on credit cards are around 60 % p.a. etc, etc...
And the world is not going into hyperinflation, only on the gold thread.
