ALD aims to increase ore reserves around known deposits by further drilling while constructing a mine and processing plant on Simberi Island with a view to producing 84,000 ounces of gold per year over the life of the mine. Plant throughput will eventually be increased to 3mt per year and gold production to 115,000 ounces per year. Although the main focus will be on the exploration program in Simberi, renewed exploration programs are planned for Tabar and Tatau Islands.
