but,monogram,amateurs buy the open and professionals the close has IMHO been debunked/superced.
Why? because clients [like us] no longer use brokers and have access to market depth and historical price data.
The share market is Live2Air now and has only been so for what?10 years or so?maybe 15.

but when that 'maxim' came into vogue?one barely got down the Stock Exchange once a month if not year to watch the Board.Charting Graphs of historical price was done all by hand by very few.all those indicators requiring high maths skills like even expodential moving averages were,well, only the province of Einstein Devotees.

do you see monogram.'amateurs' rang their brokers before open and virtually 'instructed' to buy at market and 'the professionals' [institutions virtually only defined then as professionals] anyway against the market orders the auction open was then 'rigged'/met.

the close however was a balancing thing.few members of the general public were involved,they'd either bought or sold usually in the first hours or maybe on the afternoon stock market report in the afternoon issue.
very few were 'in' on the closing auction of the 'class' called 'amateurs'.

do you follow,monogram?some market maxims are now completely wrong or misleading.It is different now,yet saying that,it's different this time is 'judged' very 'amateur'.

very tricky be the sharemarket.it's dynamic.
