    Well, I suppose we all have different experiences. I had my dog to the vet on Monday, really worried about her. Vet was calm and confident, explaining well what she was thinking as she examined my dog.
    Diagnosis made sense, treatment has worked quickly, and the animal is almost completely back to her usual self.

    You're paying for many years of education plus skill and the capacity to do something you can't do yourself, ie make your dog well again. I was more than happy to pay the $120 cost of examination, diagnosis and treatment.
    Vets are not subsidised by government as doctors are.

    If you resent the cost of caring for your dog, might be best not to have one.
    I reckon for every dollar I've spent on my girl I've had thousands of dollars worth of love and companionship.
