I was thinking about this the other day and the answer just hit me… which is an answer I should have known after so many years in the market (been around since the day I turned 18) ….
We are all supposed to look at nothing more than the reported earnings/ large announcements, make relevant holding adjustments, and then not look until next earning season/ big announcement.
Honestly, the in between phase mar-July and sept- Jan is nothing but up- and down swings, anxiety and pain for those who look every day, confusion and self doubt (I bet you almost everyone can nod their head in agreement when reading previous sentence).
This latest down turn means absolutely nothing, it can be the weather, it can be covid, it can be a lack of faith in the government or the future of the past. It can be anything or nothing at all.
All that truly means something is what the numbers say in a couple of weeks time and the few and far in between big announcements. Cgf is great and will grow with interest rates. No need to overthink it, it’s simply so. Cheers and happy investing
