@JonnoH; according to Victoria's Acting CHO and our Covid Commander at today's Covid press conference, some 1,245 new households have been identified by contact tracers in today's outbreak [ie. roughly half of all new infections are from new sites.
This is after new cases emerged at 49 schools across Melbourne.
Those developments are indeed concerning and point to a continuation of the up trend since rising vaccination rates are not yet high enough to turn it around.
When asked about the rising case numbers today Andrews was emphatic that Victoria would be following it road map out of pandemic.
As a consequence, by the end of next week those who are still unvaccinated will become increasingly exposed to Covid19 - albeit more than 2/3rds of them will be aged under 30 if today's figures are a guide.
