it was like breaking free - like a burden being lifted from one's shoulders.
once in the blue moon, watso makes the odd post on the religious forum.. watso was raised in a very religious household - and simply followed the faith of his parents . bible reading was after every evening meal (and also after the lunch meal on sunday); a prayer before EVERY meal (ie including breakfast) ; prayers after every evening meal and a prayer after the sunday meal ... and you guessed it - a prayer at bed time.
at age 14, watso dedicated his life to jesus at some crusade at perry lakes stadium.
the funny thing was that there was always some nagging disbelief - eg it was always difficult to believe that jesus christ had to die on the cross to forgive us of our sins .
anyway, watso tossed away the shackles of religion - but it seems that people find solace in the belief in a god.
interestingly, there was a segment on the 7.30 report not so long ago, and a question was posed to a holocaust survivor - and if she believed in god - her answer was no - she mentioned all the people feverishly praying to god, as they were about to be killed - and god did nothing
