@daicosisgod; it's a shame you can't see beyond Liberal Party propaganda as circulated by Murdoch Mouthpieces. I've addressed the points you've raised below:
1. $188 billion in debt - unlike 'JobKeeper' that investment delivers returns and has already enabled Melbourne to surpass Sydney in size.
2. Melbourne house prices going backwards - lancing the property bubble pumped up by the Liberal Party to create an illusion of wealth will enable better access for younger Australians to the property market, attracting young people to Victoria even as oldies head to Queensland.
3. Landlords cashing out - again, this is a great development, cleansing Victoria of property speculators will improve productivity.
4. Corrupt CFMEU draining state funds on major building sites - your point is overstated but there's no doubt our pollies need to run a dose of salts through the CFMEU. It needs to do same thing to corrupt businesses including our largest banks and Fossil Fuel Corporations.
5. Lowest credit rating of any Australian state - to be expected due to the prioritisation of Sydney by successive federal governments. Will bounce back as Big Build projects progressively deliver services.
6. Net migration interstate - the loss of older Victorians needing to retire to warmer locations is nothing new. Melbourne already has about 100,000 more people than Sydney - they're also younger and with brighter futures!
7. Deemed to be the hardest state in which to do business - really, by whom ... the Hawthorn FC or the Collingwood FC?
8. Highest CBD office vacancy rate in the nation - that's a fair point as many Victorians took to working from home during the Covid Pandemic and see no need for them to return to working full time in the CBD. It's led the Vic Govt to refurbish some former offices as apartments [friends of ours recently bought just such an apartment for way less than what opportunistic, price-gouging developers were seeking for 'greenfield properties].
9. A premier who cannot give a straight answer in Question Time - IMO Jacinta Allen is indeed struggling to master the demands of being Victoria's Premier, begging the question as to what's the alternative on offer from the Liberal Party ... Mr Visionless Shouty?
10. WorkCover Scheme is broke - the impact on people of exposure to the risks such as PFAS has had on firies raises many questions and not just for governments. The potential liabilities for employers and for government are indeed massive and IMO it's ;long overdue that workplace safety was elevated to the highest level possible rather than as an afterthought os dismissed as some kind of CFMEU rort.
11. State Housing Insurance Scheme is broke and raised premiums by more than 100% over last 12 months - it's not just housing insurance that's demonstrating price-gouging as company execs inflate their remuneration and adjust premiums to account for ballooning real estate valuations.
12. 80,000 new homes per year target in tatters in first year and will never be met. - Maybe too early to tell as ramping up gets underway but I suspect you're correct on this one.
13. Massive Health System cost cutting taking place endangering patient services - as I've indicated previously, governments MUST MUST MUST hold senior hospital managements fully to account and require that antiquated systems and processes are transformed into best modern practices.
14. Broken Ambulance Victoria Service - personal experience informs me that ambulance services vary greatly across Victoria and that a major contributory factor to that is ramping. I've been impressed with the expertise and professionalism of ambos but alarmed at the impact ramping has on the services they can provide. Again, senior hospital managers need to be held fully to account for their failures to modernise / streamline processes as gthey instead build monuments to self-glorification and install hideously expensive equipment that's rarely ever used.
15. Pot holes across the whole statetewide road network. It was a huge mistake to privatise road maintenance throughout Victoria. Whereas the govenment owned and administered Country Roads Board [CRB] is etched into Victorian History for all the right reasons, handing over road maintenance to the private sector has proven to be an absolute disaster.
Cheers!
