In my opinion the one real positive is the independent going down in big lumps after 11 years. I reckon the voters in East Gippsland took one look at the big-shot independents,their juvenile behaviour and especially the betrayal of their voters (have a look at at the percentage vote the ALP scored in those electorates) in the Federal arena and said "we are not taking the chance".
As I said it is just an opinion.
