There's no stopping the Vic virus spread now, the horse has bolted, the genie has got out of the bottle. There are only two possible outcomes in the long run, either a vaccine is developed soon ( but no guarantee here) or we live with the virus which will eventually infect everyone unless they are confined to their homes and never get out till they eventually age and die of natural causes. There's no point in that, a prisoner for life. There is no in-between scenario. If its the latter scenario, then no point shutting everything totally down until we are a smouldering ruin. Live with it, accept there will be a mortality rate, and get on with life as close to normal as possible. We accept road deaths ( in 2019 the data shows over 2000 people killed in Oz) but we live with that, we begrudgingly accept it. We could eradicate it by shutting down all roads forever, but we don't, instead we accept there will always be a road toll and we live with it. Similarly there will always be a covid toll, ultimately we just have to accept it and continue as best we can with our livelihoods.

If we are ever invaded I'm guessing there's going to be a % who yell barleese in the face of personal discomfort. But I'm prepared to pick the slack for the good of us all.
