this kind of stuff is one reason why I walked off 'normal' life in Oz decades ago.
I won't run the details (I did so a few times over the years) - but, suffice to say that a state gov classified a business I owned one way - and denied savings to me and meant more business costs and the commonwealth government classified the exact same business the opposite way - and extracted money from me
both using rules to suit themselves.
A couple of events like that - and I decided that if governments etc wrote their own rules for their own benefit - then, so would I.
I go out of my way to avoid 'complications' now. I've absolutely no interest in complications that result in paying taxes to self serving self rule writing trash.
IMO and has been for a long time - the system is badly wrong in Oz. Wrong philosophy, wrong headed thinking, wrong people. And an apathetic public.
My complicity and irresponsible behaviour --------- not joining a political party and trying to change from the inside. They make me vomit, god knows it's enough to sit in the airline clubs and listen to Ozzies - I can only think how bad it would be inside parties.
