"As much as 400,000 barrels a day of oil production is at risk as U.S. shale companies like Samson Resources Co. run out of money and are forced to slow drilling."

I expect his figures will be conservative and will be added to what is already happening, below is from the EIA which is notoriously conservative itself when talking about declines....


"The EIA has total shale peaking in April 2015 at 5,434000 bpd and declining by 360 thousand barrels per day by September to 5,074000 bpd. 360,000 barrels per day is quite a decline by September."

The shale boom in the North America is over unless we get back to consistantly high prices over a long period..however with hotspots, tumbling drilling costs and improving methods will still be a good supplier of oil and gas but its days of adding over 1Mil BOPD every year to world supplies are over for some time...the 12 months from April 2015 could see 1 Mil BOPD taken out of world supply instead....
