Interesting review of the end of last year VIC grid... appears that they import - but only because most coal plants are at 50% and don't ramp quickly enough to meet sudden demand.

NSW appears to be the biggest importer of electrons.... agree that SA-NSW could be a massive addition for SA (and IFN by extension) - recent outage appears to have been positive for IFN due to rates paid for giving control over, but it seems silly for such a critical infrastructure piece to have no redundancy.
