This is the first time I have heard him speak. I was struck by the difference in what he said and what you suggested yesterday.

It's interesting to get context by actually listening to what a person says rather than reading a third person's spin on it.

The interviewer, Joe O'Brien, asked the relevant questions about infection rates etc. He didn't leave anything out . I thought Collignon was quite diplomatic and reasonable in his response. He also referred to the data and what we are learning as that data is collected.

It seemed to me that he agrees with a cautious approach that uses data to guide it going forward.

" We need to be very cautious. We are on an absolute knife-edge in Victoria about whether we bring this under control rapidly or it develops further. "

Nothing like a bit of 20:20 hindsight being magnified by shock jocks trying to sell a newspaper.

How about you comment on the reluctance of people to get vaccinated prior to this outbreak ? I don't know why but people were seemingly reluctant to get vaccinated .
Now , they can't get it in them quick enough.

Maybe a very cautious, conservative response from the government isn't such a bad thing if it gets conspiracy theorists off their backsides to get a vaccination ?

Fancy the Victorian Labor Party being called conservative ?

There was no spin from me yesterday or today. I wrote yesterday what Collignon said on radio. It seems the other two experts in the papers today are basically saying the same thing.

So to accuse me of spin is disingenuous
