These news outlets need to be giving the whole story, not just snippets to support their narrative.

Every day the headlines come blaring out, XXX new cases of Covid-19, woe are we, the 2nd wave is upon us...blah blah blah..,.

No real news there, as always from likes of the ABC and Guardian,..all they ever do is set out to put fear and dread among their readers.

So how many of the alleged new cases show no symptoms? How many show very mild symptoms? How many need to be hospitalised? This is what readers want to know, not the headline of shock horror, XXX new cases.

So another poor old fellow died...in his 90's. Condolences to the family it is never great to lose a loved one in death. But who knows, maybe they were relieved that he went? He may have been very sick and weak with some serious underlying health conditions.

But we are not told or given the facts, it is none of our business, Hundreds of old folk die from the Flu and pneumonia every single year but that is never reported...thousands of people catch the Flu or pneumonia every year and end up in Hospital, but that isn't news worthy.

We have had 107 largely older infirm folk that have unfortunately died allegedly due to Covid-19...compared to many hundreds that die from Flu or pneumonia...are we stupid or something?
Crippled the economy and destroyed jobs and livelihoods...for what? Attempting to rid us of a virus that there is no vaccine for? The fact is some people will get sick, most apparently will experience mild flu like symptoms and recover quickly, some may not even know they had it.

On another front, I heard a report that since this shutdown took place, over 400 people have taken their own lives in Victoria alone. I can't find the details, but likely true as over 3,000 people between 15 & 44 take their own lives each year in this country. There will be many more suicides with what is happening to people's lives and their businesses...but these sorts of statistics don't sell newspapers!

Without being callous, why don't we talk about that instead of the handful of older people with one foot in the grave that may well have died in a few weeks or months anyway...
