What's the end goal here? That's where we all really need some confirmation. Are they looking to squish it down and by the end of the extra weeks (10 in total), have permanent zero community transmission cases? If it's not at zero, are they going to just continue extending and extending?
A legit question, as I'm at a loss to think of any examples, but has a lockdown in any country where there was an outbreak of at least 200 cases a day over a 2 week period helped realise zero community transmission? Even places like China, Germany, Spain, etc have had flare ups and NZ/Taiwan never really ballooned into a problem to begin with as the scale was far smaller.
