Yes. Whoever’s setting the rules must be able to see how inappropriate they are for Redflow. The ARENA funded battery test centre still calls itself the lithium ion battery test centre on its website, but is still testing Redflow batteries. So it’s not like the CEC isn’t aware of Redflow. Whether it’s the lack of ISO accreditation, or the fact that Redflow have sent them 3 failed batteries and they haven’t got data on the 4th yet, or perhaps Redflow just don’t see themselves as competitive in the domestic market so haven’t pressed for changes yet, or maybe it’s something else, I don’t know. But it seems to me that these rules, which should be easy to argue against, are a symptom of something rather than a root cause.
