And there is the issue with the way in which you understand economics.......

Prices will not be pushed down at all, the increased supply from people coming into the country will mean that those people will come in from countries where they also have money and will buy the houses. Especially in the inner city areas, its already happening in many areas. I used to live in Moreland and my old neighbours are no longer renters.

People renting now will not be able to buy and will continue to miss out. In fact they will end up missing out more because many of them are green loving people that want to live cool green loving Brunswick but will find a decrease in the rental stock being offerred in rentals.

If you want to fix it then you need to do alot more than this hair brain idea. So these people getting into council that have zero understanding of economics are just causing themeselves more problems.
