    That is just sensationalist rubbish, and unless you are extremely blinkered you would know that. A Tesla M3 SR+ or Hyundai Ionic weighs less than a Toyota Camry and the Model S is similar to a Toyota Prado or an S class Benz. Hardly smashing out roads and infrastructure.

    As for the 800kg EV, I can only assume you are talking about the Wuling-GM-SAIC mini EV which in basic trim has a range of 120km, top speed of 100kmh, weight of 665kg and sells for just over 4K US$. They won't ever be sold in Australia because they would not pass ADRs or our crash standards, but it does look like they are the best selling EV in China.

    An EV's centre of mass is much lower than an ICE vehicle so despite their slightly higher weight they handle and brake better than most comparable cars.
