Companies Announcement Platform 14 July 2006 Australian Stock Exchange MANY PEAKS DRILLING PROGRAMME Norton Gold Fields advise that a 10 hole, 1,000 metre reverse circulation drilling programme is set to commence in three weeks at NGF’s Many Peaks Copper Project. The Many Peaks drilling programme will comprise infill drilling to provide the necessary data to enable a first phase JORC compliant resource statement to be compiled. The company has completed a full review of the geology of the Many Peaks projects and assessed the geological model as a volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) type deposit. A recently completed electrical conductivity survey confirmed continuity of mass sulphide mineralisation between drill holes from the January 2006 programme. The Many Peaks deposit comprises two near vertical tabular massive sulphide zones approximately 60 metres apart with an average width of copper mineralisation of 5 metres each and a potential strike length of up to 1,200 metres. Within the western zone are two lenticular pipes approximately 250 metres apart and up to 35 metres in diameter that have historically yielded over 500,000 tonnes of ore grading 1.7% copper. Recent and earlier drilling into these zones have included: MP0603: West Zone: 57.0m @ 1.01 % Cu from collar, including 9.0m @ 2.87 % Cu from 18m depth. MP0604: West Zone: 6.0m @ 1.48 % Cu from 162m depth. MP0605: West Zone: 9.0m @ 1.23 % Cu from 183m depth. MP0606: East Zone: 3.0m @ 1.78 % Cu from 42m depth. DHMP 1: East Zone: 6.1m @ 1.7 % Cu from 9 metres, DHMP 2: East Zone: 13.8m @ 3.1% Cu from 15 metres, DHMP 4: East Zone: 20.0m @ 3.8% Cu from 9 metres, and DHMP 17: East Zone: 6.0m @ 2.15% Cu from 21 metres. The recent work has confirmed the deposit as a major VMS system that has the potential to further prove resources both at depth, on strike and in repeat systems within the host geological formation.
