He said HE got a reply from ASX - that means the reply was to HIM - he didn't say what that reply was, and nor does he have to. Most certainly, he does not have to provide you with information that was given to him. I might like to know what the response was too, but I would have the courtesy to ASK.
But I'll give you credit for one piece of good sense...
"I will now be making some of my own enquires with the ASX." (sic)
