It would be pretty easy to lock down the datum. It is the robot arm at the end of a long boom that is the real problem.

Ever walked around or driven in a strong gusty breeze? Now consider a boom that is 30m long, and has to be controlled to mm precision. A consistent breeze is not a problem. It is a gusty, inconsistent wind that is the issue.

If FBR is successful, I imagine the final product will have a weather related spec ie, "The Hadrian will work in winds of gusts upto X kmh". How large that X is will determine if this thing commercializes.
