sasa - good post - soccer is not ingrained into the aust. sporting public like most countries - nobody,anywhere likes the anomalies by the officials, but gives everyone something (rightly) to have a whinge about - otherwise we wouldn't still be talking about it - i'm a bit of a cynic when it comes to fifa - so my slant on this is that fifa realises the passion & the drama that has made this the only true world football code by far, thereby being hesitant towards introducing technology - one thing they could at least change, is instead of trying to be supposedly fair by having so many refs from so many countries, just have a panel of the best refs to choose from (even though that's no guarantee of quality)- i've seen twice this tournament, players getting yellow cards when the attacker has tripped over himself, but called a foul when the defender didn't even make a play at him or the ball - something should be done - i could go on about fifa all day, but your probably half asleep already
