The market in Australia is tiny and dominated by the big US cardiology tech companies as it is.
The patients are complicated.
Proper randomised trials need large patients numbers to show statistical significance (careful what you wish for)
The US is the market to crack (so might as well get on with it there)
The US salaries (for the management team) are way way better in USD... compared to the Aussie peso
So if you were WP or any of the US based management team, US based trial Drs, why would you want to come back to shite box Australia, when you have an ASX that allows you to can kick to infinity under CR 7.1, and a ready bunch of punters (it seems) to keep funding it "to the moon"?
I mean it really is a win win win for the BOD, management team, employees, patients, yanks, (some) fund managers (who can game it?) and everyone else including the brokers and big end of town (feeding of the trough)......
all that is... (Except the poor shareholders)
Its been like this for nearly 10 years now...
It's a classic example of moral hazard, where the financial risks (of any decision making) are not carried by those that take them - they are born by the shareholders (who are powerless to really direct them)
Existing shareholders can never get a (real) say... so what's stopping them (as in the "company") to continue carry on as they are regardless?
