That's the thing, isn't it. With PYC, you're not throwing money at something with clearly delineated trial timelines (like say, VLA, CIR, IVX, IMU, IIL, et.al) that, even if out by 25%, can still be roughly adhered to and traded accordingly. There is no binary event (e.g. efficacy, toxicity) to either roll the dice on or sell in the lead-up to.
It's really just a rather large leap of faith into... more research.
I think it gives new meaning to the word "spec"; but the more pertinent question is whether or not you are being compensated for taking that extra risk compared to alternate bioscience investments that also have the potential to make multiples of your initial outlay but with a far less nebulous development roadmap.
