Briefly, I have loathing and contempt for VPE.

I consider them a pimple on the face of the Australian oil industry.

As a result, I am not an investor in VPE, and I do not plan to be, even if their price halved from the current level.

In the Cooper, they have 2 PELs with some prospects (104 and 111), but the majority of their acreage is too far away from the Patchawarra and Nappamerri troughs to be worthwhile.

Also, condier that Kalrez et al farmed in on the same terms as VPE did, implying that VPE didnt pick it up for less than it's worth.

In the light of there last, say, 2 years, ask yourself the question 'Have VPE's executive team earned their handsome salaries'.

My answer to that is a resounding no.

If you want to go shoot elephants, buy PCL.

If you want a safe bet with established fields and good Cooper acreage, buy STU.

If you want a wild ride with the kings of farmin, buy COE.

If you want a dividend, buy BPT.

But whatever you do, sell VPE.
