    Pez,

There are probably other ppl who could give a better run down but ill add my 2cents. IMO the recent sell off is typical of many spec stocks especially spec stocks involved with oil/gas or other commodity fueled drills. The sell off can be ppl realizing a nice profit and can also be that various traders forming an opinion that the time of spudding is the longest time period till any substantial results may be announced. Lots of traders may look for quick profits elsewhere or experienced traders will jump back in a week or two later as they know share prices usually drop just after spud. The share price then will usually run up a week or so after the spud (depending on the depth of the well etc) in anticipation of results as previous traders or new comers and big players get set for anticipated announcements. Various things can happen to the share price though as insider knowledge or 'tree shaking' can occur.

With VIL at this point in time i like to believe that 'tree shaking' has occurred in a bid for certain larger holders to grab cheaper shares as a few big dumps on the market in early trading can scare lots of ppl into selling and then mass selling occurs as stop losses are hit. They then can ick them up at a cheaper price. I favour this scenario atm as with the drill bit being only 4,000 ft down the well and targets starting at 7,000 ft i am not sure what could trigger insider trading or a genuine sell off unless the drill has been botched or there is bad weather and the drill could be delayed. This doesn't seem to be the case atm thought as the announcement today seemes steady and non-eventfull. The volume of todays sell down makes me a little suspect but 'tree shaking' techniques and mass sell-offs are always amplified on penny stocks like this. They can be manipulated ALOT more then stocks above 10c. There was a bearish engulfing on the daily today also therefore i think the SP will drift a bit further. I am hoping there is some decent buying late in the week or early next week to support the tree shaking theory. Remember the ground they are drilling through now will take longer to get through then the ground they have already drilled.

Be prepared for some more shaking in my opinion. I have held on GBP in the past unsuccessfully and also AZZ successfully and they both had shakes like this so my experience tells me i know the drill could be going good or it could be going bad, same for everyone else here (i hope).
