I have read that in the freezing process around 30% are lost , for best clinical results the majority need to be removed , this results in only about half the original production been used . This was in a paper about manufacturing capacity of stem cells in general ,not any thing to do with MSB. MSB may be way out in front of the general run of stem cells.
I don't think we would lose our of the shelf product , just when volume increases this much for a product different logistics become more economic . It would cost the same amount to deliver 1000 doses as it would 1 dose.
Unfortunately in places like New York it would seem that you could drop a shipment of 1000 doses and not waist one. Fresh has become Off The Shelf .
