I see your point too.............we also must remember that you can't underestimate (other than many fund managers requiring dividends) the 50+ population and the amount of money that retirees have in shares like VRL who live off dividends.........not to mention those that think the entire purpose of shares is dividends. So what are the retirees going to do when they find out there's no dividends any more...........move to something else like the banks who are also much more likely to provide capital stabilty...........hence their safe haven status at the moment (in times of uncertainty people love high dividends) and hence the VRL boards lack of insight in this uncertain environment.
