A share consolidation costs money. That is one of two things VIL don't have. The other thing was in this mornings announcement. Don't expect to see a cap reconstruction any time soon. Its a waste of cash as most shareholders wouldn't be putting their hands back in their pockets now anyway.
Also if your going to talk about reconstructions talk of 1 for 3 or 1 for 5 is well out of the ball park. Think 1 for 50 or 1 for 100. No point going to all the cost and effort only to end up with the same SP has you had last week, ie 0.003.
Capital can still be raised even if the SP has bottomed out at 0.001. Usually companies continue doing discounted placements in this situation. Expect any placements to be at 0.0008 or below. Don't expect they will waste their time asking the retail holder base though. They would have to write a perspectus to offer stock to you guys and that would mean showing all the dirty laundry.
Management will want the gravy train to keep going. FP presumably has some potential value but given FP-1 was declared commercial by VIL then shortly thereafter plugged after producing just a few barrels of oil, FP-2 is still an extremely high risk venture and funding it will be tough. Farmout of dirt cheap raising seem the most likely options but wouldn't be counting any chickens on either in the current market.
Suggest they will make noises about FP for lack of anything else to make noises about but no firm plans will emerge for some time. For them its probably a waiting game now. Keep the boat afloat as it drifts, hoping that conditions improve, or to get an offer.
Sorry, its not a good news story and little left to look forward to really. I got off quite a while back but probably lost just as much as anybody as it drifted down towards 1c. Just couldn't believe how many times these guys could fail. Odds are if you get into enough wells one has to work. Sadly not as VIL have managed to prove.
Good luck to everybody. I feel your pain. Still feeling it in fact. All the above is my opinion only and I really hope that the company proves me wrong.
