    Yes, you would need to understand their definition of 'voilence' before you assume all women are being beaten black and blue.
    I don't know the Australian version of this but the UK NHS definition is in the email link below:

    and includes psychological abuse, which could be ,non verbal' in which case every time my hubby watches the footy and ignores me I am being abused adn therefore in a voilent relationship!

    I also understand that if the husband keeps the finances, and gives the woman only an allowance, that it also is categorised as abuse and may be included in the definition of voilence.
