I finally moved out of Melbourne in September 2021 after having lived there since commencing university in 1980. In all fairness my decision to do so was sort of in my mind (I'd come from a farming family in the Western District and there was always a possibility I'd retire back there - though this was not an absolute given by any stretch). Anyway I'm happy I made the decision I did. I feel happier and safer now - take it from me - Melbourne has turned to shite.
